How we work with you

See it work on your own data first.

We start with a proof of value on an anonymised extract, so you can judge the results against a return you already know before committing to anything.

Stage 1

Proof of value on anonymised data

You provide
An anonymised extract in whatever format suits you: a database view, a secure file transfer or a spreadsheet export. A field dictionary, if you have one, speeds up mapping.
We do
Map your fields to the HESA model, load the current quality rules and run the full process, from import to XML.
You see
Real exceptions, the verdict for each regulator, a readiness view and generated XML, in the same screens your team would use. We refine the mapping with you as your data reveals details.

Stage 2

Production

Connection
A read-only connection to your live records system, by database view or secure file transfer.
Runs
Scheduled nightly runs, plus runs on demand during the collection window.
Confidence
A parallel run alongside your current process, then sign-off.
Support
A dedicated team for migration, onboarding and training.

Questions

Common questions

Do we need to change our student record system?

No. Lyceum Data works alongside the system you have. The only part that is specific to you is the mapping from your fields to the HESA model.

Does Lyceum Data write anything back to our systems?

No. Access is read-only. Corrections made in Lyceum Data apply to its working copy of the return, not to your source data.

Who owns the data?

You do. Your institution is the data controller, and Lyceum Data acts as a processor under a data processing agreement.

Which UK nations do you support?

We are starting with England and the Office for Students. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are planned for 2027.

How is it priced?

Talk to us. We’ll scope it with you based on your institution and how you prepare the return today.
